Rockbourne Roman Villa
An easy ride across the northern parts of the New Forest to Rockbourne Roman villa. The villa was discovered in 1942, when oyster shells and tiles were found as a ferret was being dug out of a rabbit warren. Mr A T Morley Hewitt recognised the significance of the finds and dug a trial excavation, coming straight down onto a mosaic floor. Come and explore the museum, bring a picnic or after visiting the Roman villa come with us to a local pub. 29 Miles one way. Suitable for all.
